Spent the evening trouble-shooting the autopilot servos... Jake from Australia called me, Dynon dealer expert and the builder of about 30 RV's. Went spent about a hour on the phone, walking through every possible scenario. No luck... the Skyview would discover, calibrate, and show raw position data when the control surfaces were moved, and correct voltage / amps to the servos... But the Skyview system would not "Test" / Control the servos. No movement at all.
Eliminated the Aircraft completely by removing the Skyview and servos... placed on the bench and isolated the skyview and servo only... discover, calibration, data / voltage etc just fine, but no movement.
Consulted with Gulfcoast avionics here in Lakeland... the verdict was to send the Skyview and servos to Dynon. We don't think there is anything wrong with the servos... All the experts are leaning towards the firmware, or skyview unit itself...
Wonderful... This is the second unit I had to send back to Dynon... I hope it is something simple... or something deep in the software we all missed.
