Brief Description: Vertical Power VP-X Pro Test - Starter
Fabricated the switch panel for the test bench. Pinned out the J10 - 1 (Dedicated Starter Circuit) and J10 - 8 (Dedicated Ground Circuit) Tested the Starter Relay... pulled 1.7amps when activated. The VP-X Pro is designed to disengage the starter when the engine reaches > 600 rpm. I simulated this in the VP-X Configurator.
While holding the starter buttom to engage the relay I brought the RPM setting up to 600 rpm, within about a second the relay disengaged, I pushed the start buttom a few times, the relay would not engage. Dropped the rpm under 600rpm and pressed the starter botton and the relay engaged. I would consider that a successful test.
I am impressed with the VP-X Pro... ask me in 20 years!!! Time will tell.
