Brief Description:  Engine Disassembly

Continued to disassemble the engine...
Visual inspection of each part.
Accessory case removed and all gears removed and inspected.
Amazing... no visible wear, NO metal detected. very clean.
Went to Sun n Fun... talked to the guys at Aircraft Specialties, from Tulsa OK.
I have met a few of the folks, when I attended Spartan School of Aeronautics for my A&P.
I will be sending the crank, and pretty much all internal parts to them for inspection and / or reconditioning...
Completed the disassembly and like most things... although the engine was amazingly clean and showed minimum wear, and was very clean internally... I found one major issue.
#2 main bearing looked like it was spun... ouch!!! Take a look at photo and you will see what I found when I removed the bearing... Amazingly this is actuallty repairable... not sure I will go that route... probably just get a new set of cases... bummer...
As I inspected closer... the crack continues through the main journal web in 2 places and continues up the #4 cylinder bore.
If the crank and cam is serviceable I will still be way ahead of the game.
It happens....
