This was straight from Van's about the leading edges... I planned on using solid rivets where I could easily access the inner leading edge. I have an issue with the machine head not being on the thinnest metal, namely the rib flange. I have a back rivet bucking bar designed to fit the head of the rivet, but I am not confident to back rivet these. using blind rivets I would be able to place the machine heads on the flange, although it would be a tight squeeze. I will be thinking about this over the next week.
Matt,
Use solid rivets where you can easily get to them. In the rest of the holes use an MSP-42, or if it needs more grip length, a round head cherry CR3213-4 series rivet. LP4-x are only aluminum and is more 'structural' rivet is desired here.
