Got outdoors and was able to get two coats of Smooth prime on the upper cowling.
In the evening I worked on getting the hidden hinge for the oil door put in place. I made two holes in the corners where the Skybolt cam locks would be attached and then put the door in place and transferred the holes into the door. I clecoed the door in place and put some double sided sticky tape on the top to hold everything in place.
I had marked the position of the hinge to clear the opening for the oil door and used a pencil to mark the hinge location. I laid out my rivet pattern on the oil door hinge for the cowl attachment portion and drilled and clecoed the inboard hinge to the cowl.
I then reclecoed the door ot the opening and checked the door hinge to make sure it was still good. I came up with a rivet pattern for the outboard hinge and drilled the locations. I match drilled the holes in the hinge to the oil door......bingo oil door installed.
Now there needs to be some more good ole fiberglass work completed on the door....let the fun begin.....
