I began looking at starting work on the cowl. I got reviewing and looking over the top part and got the oil door out of the supplies. I was looking and pondering and decided to give my friend Rick a call. As most folks know the Vans provided oil door isn't the greatest. I spoke to Rick and he suggested making a carbon fiber door using the yet uncut top cowl as a mold. I thought is was a great idea!!!
I got a roll of packing tape and laid it over the area where I would lay the carbon fiber. As many folks now packing tape is fantastic as a mold release agant. I got the whole area covered with tape and ready for laying the carbon fiber.
I also noticed that the dessicant needed changing so I changed it in the deddicant plugs.
