Brief Description:  Firewall Forward Items #1

After all the travel and return catch up production in the shop is slowly spooling back up again. I planned on using the remaining time off during the holiday break to get more progress completed.

Rob texted me again and was willing to come over due to the poor weather that took flying off his list for the day. So he came over in the afternoon which was good because I got to go to the airport for someone that was interested in buying some things that I was selling from the hangar cleanout for my neighbor so I was able to meet with the buyer and get rid of some things.
I returned with Rob showing up shortly after and we got working.

Almost immediately Rob was looking for some sort of hardware and stumbled on a bag or two of "unorganized" hardware and entered his "organize zone" and started categorizing it into it's place.

We then began to focus on the mixture arm and getting it resolved. Rob worked on the cable and attachment bolt and I worked on cutting out the honeycomb area of the cowl for the arm additional clearance. Clearing out the honeycomb gave the better part of 1/4 inch of clearance for the entire arm although the only place that needed the clearance was the cable arm rod and just a smidge for the mixture assembly attach rod. We placed the cowling back on and checked the clearance and movement of the mixture. No interference and good clearance at the front of the travel where the crux of the issue was caused.
