Brief Description:  Baffles - Snorkel - Priming #1

Well it is Labor Day weekend and a lot of work was put into the RV8 project today and this weekend!!! I have had impromptu visits by Rob and Ralph that have been a real boon to what I have been able to accomplish also this weekend. The airplane is taking shape slowly but surely.

Rob came over just before noon and started looking into working the baffle seals. He had brought over the patterns from his RV8 and RV7 projects, but no two baffles are exactly alike so he got to working on new baffle seal patterns with posterboard. The process is a time consuming affair that requires decisions on where to place the breaks in the baffle seals as well as which pieces can be cut on the material. I have elected to go with 3 inch silicone seal material so the piece can only cover so much drop in the baffles before it won't fit on the piece. That made it a bit more challenging but Rob handled it very tactically.

After he got the lions share of the patterns made I started riveting them to the baffles while helping him out when he needed and extra hand.
