Brief Description:  Windscreen, Brake Lines, and Upper Gear Fairings

Rick and I both worked the canopy fairings with sanding blocks to knock down the micro that had been placed on the canopy fairings yesterdsy. I am very thankful to have "Perma-Grit" sanding tools.....they are a lifesaver and tear the micro or fiberglass down reasonably quickly....far quicker than sandpaper anyway. After getting the micro beat down to a place where the finer sandpaper and finishing was taking place then Rick took over on the fairings and I went on to other things.

Since we still had to work the gear fairings I went ahead and got the brake lines and installed them. Then it was working the gear leg fairings once again. My gear are the standard Vans steel gear and have to have brake lines installed along the back side of the gear leg. Some aftermarket gear have the brake line chanel drilled right through the landing gear leg on aluminum landing gear.

The gear fairings had to be modified to allow clearance for the brake lines as well as the aluminum gear cover that goes on the belly of the airplane skin.

With that completed I went on to getting some clay placed on the left gear fairing and between Rick and I we got it pretty much ready to lay fiberglass on the molded clay.

At this point the fairing is a tedious process and Rick is a very patient man....I busy myself with other things when it comes to the finishing aspect so progress is steady as she goes.

On another note this log brings my total log hours up to 3628.6! We shot past the 3600 mark on May 2nd work session. Wow-somewhere I am hoping I have made a 1000 hour mistake......but it is what it is....
