Endeavoring to complete the last of the fiberglass parts completed before life gets real busy for the next month.
I was out in the shop at 0500 this morning to place coat #3 of Smooth Prime on the wingtips, rudder and canopy skirt. Each coat on the parts takes me about 35 -40 minutes including cleanup of the pan and roller. Once again,,,,,,,I am a fan of Smooth Prime.....does a great job and water based makes it an easy clean up and sanding (you just can't wet sand it for obvious reasons!).
I went in to start working the job. In the afternoon I went out and put on coat #4. I generally put only three coats but I laid one more on for good measure.
Around 1830 I headed out to the shop and with the Smooth Prime nice and dry I had enough sunlight left to complete sanding one wingtip, Sanding Smooth Prime is pretty dusty and I really don't like to do it indoors. Once again I start with 220 grit to get the Smooth Prime knocked down and finish with the 320 grit......that seems to work well. I am hoping to be able to final shoot all parts with eko-prime before my pause in work.
I also had dome parts that needed filler from last session of priming so I sanded them and got them ready to reprime.
