Having to leave to go away for the week next week, I just had time to pull out the pipes that I use to roll the flight control leading edges. All I had time to do was one bend on the outboard end of the right elevator.
I changed my process on forming the leading edge bends:
First of all I used two different size pipes. I used a 1/2" black pipe for the small roll and then I used a 3/4" black pipe for the rest of the bends......this works MUCH better!
Secondly, rather than bending all the leading edge skins all at once I bent them in three sections. This all worked amazingly well and formed the leading edges wonderfully....just formed one edge. Now its time to go get ready for a week of travel! Have to shut down Skykings RV Skunkworks for the week.
