UPS came thru tonight with the VP-X and also brought a Dynon ADAHRS unit. I need some shorter brass screws to mount the ADAHRS so I started with the VP-X. I installed one of the angle brackets to the VP-X and used the other bracket to match drill holes in a piece of .063 plate which will serve as the forward mount for the unit. The plate will slip behind the F802N upper forward brace and attach with nutplates, while the angle bracket will mount to the F802T crossbar with screws. This should make a very secure and neat installation. However, I can’t take credit for this idea--saw this on Greg Blanck’s web site. Greg is doing some outstanding work on his 8. Next up is to get some holes drilled, nutplates added and brackets primed.
