Brief Description:  Dropped plumb bobs

I used a digital level to make sure the fuse was exactly level. Used some large vice grip clamps to clamp the angles to the gear legs. I had originally put some masking tape on the leg to mark the centerline to line up with the center of the angle. Discovered that there was no way to clamp it tight enough --the angle would rotate with an 8 oz. weight suspended on the end. So I removed the angles, and then the masking tape, reinstalled the angles and leveled once again. Measured from the aft side of the gear leg 23.5” and drew a line on the angle. Dropped plumb bobs from each angle to correspond with the 23.5” mark. Hung some orange tape on each end of the angles--the angles are just the right height to poke someone in the eye! Dropped a plumb from the tooling hole in the rear bulkhead—marked the center on masking tape on the floor. Next up I hope to actually begin with gear alignment.
