Brief Description:  Canopy skirts-9

Clamped the left skirt to the bench—left 5/8” from the holes in the bottom of the skirt to the edge of the bench. Ran a couple of strips of duct tape from the top edge to the bottom of the work bench. Pulled the skirt down approx 1”. Ran a heat gun up and down the edge where it was clamped, then let it cool. While waiting for the glass to cool down, I made a template from some scarp trimmed from the skirts. Used the template to locate the remaining holes in the rib going up to the rear bow. Unclamped the skirt and clecoed it to the frame--heating did change the curve at the bottom edge just a bit. Used the template to finish the holes in the rib. Also used the 12” strap duplicator to drill the top holes in the 2 vertical ribs. I still have a gap along the bottom edge, however it is less than before. Clamped it up again to the bench and left 1.5” distance from the holes to the edge of the work bench. Pulled some tension on it with tape, ran the heat gun up and down the bend line for about a minute and left it to cool. After cooling, I clecoed back to the frame—still have a about the same gap. Looks like it I may have to resort to fiberglass to get the fit I want.
