Got the HS tip prepped for glass. Wiped with MEK and wedged some foam into the end. The fit was very good, so I didn’t bother to glue it in. Cut some glass a little bigger than the tip and then mixed up some epoxy. I brushed the epoxy onto the foam piece and sides of the tip. Laid the glass in and used a small brush to wet the glass. Next, I used a credit card to apply epoxy to the end of the VS tip to fill the pin holes—saw this on VAF. Poured some of the epoxy into a separate cup, then mixed in micro to make a really thick paste. Applied the mixture to the top of the rudder—still trying to get the height to match the VS. Back to the VS tip—the straight epoxy was getting tacky, so I applied another coat-used a credit card to wipe across the surface pushing epoxy into the pin holes. Let it set for about 15 minutes and spread on another coat. Hopefully this take care of the pin hole issue.
