Brief Description:  Cowl inlet seals, GPS shelf

Been away from the shop for a bit, but back at it today. Over the past several work sessions, I have sanded the spinner, applied sanding primer, sanded again—several times. I think I finally got all of the surface blemishes out. Shot a coat of primer today, but need one more coat. I match drilled the clamping strips that hold the baffle seal to the lower cowling up to #27, then countersunk the cowling for #6 screws. I scuffed up the clamping strips and shot a coat of primer on the side that faces out. After dry, I applied some red RTV to the inside face of the strip and clamped it and the baffle seal to the cowl. Plans call for Plyobond to glue the strip to the seal material, but I think RTV will work just as well. If not, I’ll remove it and hunt for Plyodond. I mixed up some resin and applied to the inside of the lower cowl to seal the raw glass. It will take one more batch to finish up the lower cowl, then I can start on the upper. Next, I began work on a shelf to hold a couple of GPS pucks. One end will attach to the firewall and the other I’ll clamp to the motor mount. After the mount is done, I can finish running the upper plug wires as well as the antenna leads for the GTN and Dynon pucks.
