I was ready to mark the final trim lines on the baffles using the paper clip method—hmm, can’t find the box of big clips, so moved to the FAB. Spend some time getting the FAB snorkel to fit the servo bolt holes, but finally got it installed. Then, it was many iterations of slowly enlarging the hole in the center of the left forward ramp until the snorkel fits in the cut out. Then, dutifully following the FAB instructions, I cut and drilled the left and right VA-132A1 filter mounts per the drawing (such as it is). The dimensions show it should be 6 1/8” long and fit down inside the snorkel. Another gotcha—the snorkel is only 5 3/8” long on the sides. I’ll have to shorten the mounts—maybe cutting some off of each end will allow me to punch new rivet holes—not sure yet how this may work. Should have gone after paper clips instead.
