This log covers several days of activity. After the flox from the previous session had dried, I sanded once again. Looks pretty good in most spots—decided to add a third layer of tape on the plexi side. The skin side has only one layer of tape. Mixed up some micro and applied. After this cured, I sanded once again and carefully removed one layer of tape. I sanded the edges so that I could no longer feel any edge. Then, I mixed up some straight resin and applied using a 1” paint brush. This left some streaks—should have used a foam brush. Anyhow, I sanded this down with 220 grit and then removed the second layer of tape. I sanded the edge again so that the fairing was flush with the single layer of tape. I carefully removed the last layer of tape on both the plexi and the skin. Whoo-hoo, I ended up with a nice clean edge almost everywhere. I have one problem area that I need to tape and fill just a little, but for the most part it’s ok. Tomorrow, I will re-tape, work on that one trouble spot, then shoot some sanding primer.
