This log covers 2 days of activity. I sanded both lower fairings again. Mixed up a slurry of resin and flox and spread again with a credit card. While curing, I cut some 3” strips of glass. Early this AM, I sanded the lower fairings again. Then taped off the canopy with another layer of clear packing tape. I mixed up some resin with black pigment and wet out the 2” strips. One batch isn’t quite enough for all of the 2”, so I applied what was wet and mixed another batch. Finished up the 2” and began wetting the 2.5” strips. As the strips get wider, each takes more of the batch of resin. I kept mixing and applying until all strips were in place. Then I applied some peel ply over the bow. Only got 2 pics--seemed extremely busy during the layup! Tonight I’ll try to spring open the canopy—hope I don’t have to use a crash axe!
