Brief Description: Fill brake lines

Today was fill the brake lines day—what a crap shoot that was. All you guys that claim to fill your lines in 30 minutes or less—well, you must be a much better builder than me! I added brake fluid to my pump up sprayer, connected to the left bleeder valve, squeezed the trigger, then cracked the bleeder valve. Hmm, a bit of a drip around the bleeder valve, but nothing making its way to the plastic lines. So, I pumped the sprayer some more---bam! The tube jumped off of the bleeder valve—clean up on isle 4! Regrouped and started again. Why is no fluid getting to the plastic lines?---cause some dumb a$$ left the parking brake closed! Opened the parking brake valve and whoosh—fluid flowed. Now it’s going into the other line instead of filling the reservoir! I had left the right bleeder valve slightly open. Closed it off before it ran onto the floor. After several more pumping of the sprayer, the air seemed to all be gone. I closed off the bleeder valve and repeated for the right side. Brakes feel very firm, however, there is one small bubble near the reservoir on the right line and one bubble on the left line. I may leave them and see what happens. I don’t want any more brake stuff for awhile. Next, I moved to the upper cowling attach hinge. I used side clamps to attach the right f/w upper hinge. Then I match drilled it with the firewall, replacing the clamps with clecos as I moved along. Maybe get the other side tomorrow—if the brake fluid gremlin doesn’t visit during the night!
