Brief Description: Flaps - Finish Hinge 2. Flaps Done for Now
After removing the teeth I cut the hinge pins to length. It is not exactly in half because the teeth are about 1/2 inch to one side of center. Then I bent the ends 90 degrees. Then I bent them again to match the slant on the flap brace. Finally I trimmed to equal lengths.
Notice I made the 90 degree bend at the point where the two hinge pins are adjacent to each other. And when they are touching the outboard ends of pin protrude just slightly. I figure I'll be wiring these two pins together and onto the flap brace. I'll probably make two holes in the flap brace where the two blue dots are for the safety wire to go through.
I won't be riveting this flap hinge to the wing until I put on the bottom skins. So for now the flaps are done.
