The last step I can do to the flap at this stage of finishing the wing, is to finish the hinge. Van's offers two options for the hinge pin: 1) long pin and drill a hole through aileron hinge bracket or 2) cut out a few hinge teeth and cut the pin in half. I choose the later for two reasons: 1) seems like I'll be able to remove the flaps easier without messing with the aileron and 2) half a hinge pin is easier to push then a whole one.
So first I found the center of the flap, then I looked at the flap brace and decided I wanted the teeth to be removed that put the hinge pin in between the holes on the brace. I marked the teeth.
I cut them off using a little hack saw. Smoothed them with file and sand paper. And finished by polishing with scotchbrite.
