Brief Description: VS Deburred, Dimpled, Counter Sink
I disassembled the VS. Notice the pneumatic cleco tool. Cool yeh? My brother Ed gave it to me. Check out his RV build log at mykitlog.com/thelynns. It makes disassembling easy, fast and fun. Then I did the standard: debur, dimple, counter-sink. Sounds fast and easy, but, not quit that easy. I have to read the drawing to make sure I don't screw up something and determine the dimples. The VS has some 1/8 flush rivets on the spar. I do most of the dimpling on the C-frame including most of the ribs. On the HS I gave it a 1/4 - 1/2 turn preload. But I'm suspecious it wasn't enough. So on the VS I gave it 3/4 turn of preload. Then I use the pneumatic squeezer to finish the rib holes I couldn't reach on the C-frame. I give the pneumatic squeezer about 1/4 turn of preload.
