I worked on the Tool Box practice exercise and finished it with all clecoes in a day. I'm going to practice priming and painting on this before I do it for real with the empennage parts. The box went together straight forward. I got faster at de-burring. I had to do the hinge twice, because I didn’t understand the sentence, “”reverse the hinge segments.” I know now it means turn around one of the hinge sides and use it that way. Good exercise because I wouldn’t have thought you could do this to a hinge. All parts are drilled, deburred, dimpled and ready for priming, riveting, and final painting. I think I’ll make it blue.
I built a spray booth out of cardboard. See me tools section for more on that. I used rattle can, self etching primer and blue enamel paint. Its done. Now to get started on the Empennage.
