While Sam Toy was here, he helped me mark and cut the two main landing gear leg fairings. We clamped them to an angle iron and ensured they were perfectly verticle, then marked the bottom-most point on each end, establishing a centerline. We also ran blue tape across the open end then sliced through the tape, establishing perfectly parallel points on each side of the open end.
We then cut the template from the Vans drawings to draw and cut the appropriate leg fairing length and shape. Image 2 shows the draw marks.
