With the left wingtip now fitted, I split the one-piece clear acrylic wingtip light cover into two pieces (one for each side). I taped the left half over the light slot and marked the cut line with a black sharpee. I heated the clear plastic so it would cut easily without cracking. I took my time fitting, marking, cutting, sanding, refitting, etc until the cover fit perfectly into the flanged recess. I then taped it FIRMLY into place and drilled the top and bottom holes. I used #6 flush screws and platenuts to secure the lens.
