Today I'm finishing the flaps by installing and wiring the Ray Allen potentiometer that measures its extenstion. First, I adjusted the actuator rods so that both flaps were within the 42-45 degree max extension limit prescribed in the plans, and as close to each other as possible. Images 1 and 2 show the results, and I just can't get them any closer.
Next, I set up a light in the baggage compartment to cast a shadow behind the right flap actuator arm weldment so I could mark the upper and lower-most lines of travel for max and min flap extension. With this, I could measure and mark vertically the spot where the difference is 1 inch. This marks where I'll install an adel clamp on the actuator arm for my flep extension sensor armiture.
