Houston helped me build the jack stands. For jacks, I'm using the 3 1/2 ton jacks from Harbor Freight: No, the airpane's not that heavy, but it is high. These jacks are tall enough to reach the bottom of the wing.
I used 3/4" plywood as a base, and metal conduit flattened on the ends as the stabilizer legs. Houston flattened the ends of the stabilizer legs in a vice. I gathered the legs together at the top with a metal hose clamp, and drilled holes in the bottom ends for carriage bolts/nuts through the plywood base. More carriage bolts and nuts with fender washers hold the jack base in place.
I drilled bolt holes into two iron pipe caps that are large enough to fit over the top of the jack arm. Through these bolt holes, I bolted zinc bolts of the same diameter and thread to screw into the airplane's tie-down points, and lock-nutted them onto the cap. This means I'll use the tie-down points as hard points for the jacks. total cost: just under $100
