I took some time today to install the Classic Aero Design (CAD) glareshield pad to the glareshield. The glareshield is a thick curved sheet of alclad, with a sharp edge ready to slice our foreheads in the event of a rough landing or abrupt stop. The Vans plans call for a thin flimsy rubber edging, which won't pretect us from much of anything.
CAD offers a special-built thick padded edging which fits this glareshield perfectly.
