I fabricated an upper door panel of 0.04" alclad to cleco atop the lower 0.063" panel. This upper panel is longer and wider, overlapping the door hole and setting flush into the cowling's door edge recesses. Image 1 shows where I cut oval notches into the lower panel, allowing room for the camloc latches: I'm installing two to provide closure redundancy.
