Brief Description: Testing the canopy hinge bracket release
When assembled, I tested the clearance. Problem: The bolts did not extend far enough into the hinge holes. I rechecked all my measurements (modified hinge bolts, tie rods, etc), and they were all spot on. I then checked the dimensions of the central T, and found that the cross piece (to which the tie rods mount) was about 3/4 inch too short.
I fixed this by ordering two more clevis bolts, each about 2/3 inch longer than the spec, and sawed off their length long enough to cover the gap.
