Brief Description:  Building/installing the parking brake

I purchased the Matco parking brake valve assembly plus the Van's RV-10 parking brake mounting bracket. The RV-10 kit adapts quite well to the RV-7 and is designed specifically for the Matco valve.

In images 2 and 3 you see the clevis arm, which will hold the end of a clutch cable assembly whose center wire will push/pull the valve lever. I'll mount this clutch cable knob on the panel: Pushing the knob in opens the valve. To set the parking brake, I'll hold the wheel brakes down, then pull and lock the clutch cable. This wil rotate the valve handle upward closing off brake fluid flow and holding the brakes. Pushing the clutch cable handle in will rotate the handle downward, opening the valve and releasing the pressure lock on the brakes.
