1. For each upright, accomplished the following: 2. Positioned on spar through 1/4" hole with AN4 bolt. 3. Squared upright on spar. 4. Used a transfer punch to locate the 1/4" hole on the other end of the upright. 5. Removed upright, drilled pilot hole for AN4 bolt with #40 bit, and opened for bolt size. 6. Marked location where doubler met upright. 7. Removed upright; drew line across upright at the point marked. 8. Center punched 10 mm from line. 9. Drilled punched points with #40 bit. 10. With rivet fan, established 3 intermediate locations, and punched. 11. Drilled with #40 bit, for a total of 5 rivet locations per upright. 12. Placed upright in position, and slipped 6ZU2-5 slim under upright. 13. Back drilled through shim with #40 bit, and clecoed. 14. Used a transfer punch to locate the 1/4" hole on the other end of the upright. 15. Removed upright, drilled pilot hole for AN4 bolt with #40 bit, and opened for bolt size. 16. Replaced upright and shim. 17. Opened pilot holes for rivets with #20 bit, and clecoed.
Note: Since the dual stick modification is to be installed on this aircraft, the uprights associated with that installation were reused.
