Brief Description: rivet stiffners to bottom port wing skin
Some tasks get postponed until it becomes evident that there is an easier way to do them. Such was the case with riveting the stiffners to the inside of the bottom skin of the port wing. The mental preparation and tooling took more time than the task.
1. Devised approach to installing rivets. 2. Clecoed leading edge skin in place. 3. Installed three vertical wooden strips to edge of table to keep wing from slipping off table. 4. Nailed 2x4 to other side of table with 2 forms nails. 5. Slipped 1x4 under wing, and elevated wing at ~40 degree angle. 6. Screwed 1x4 to 2x4 with two wood screws. 7. Installed Avex rivets from the bottom, removing cledos and replaing them with the rivets. 8. Removed 1x4, lowering wing back to table. 9. Removed 2x4 with pry bar. 10. Left vertical strips on other side of table for potential future use.
