Brief Description: Located installation position for Lightspeed units
Lightspeed indicates their control units should be:
1) "On the cool side of the firewall." 2) Have a space for air circulation underneath the units. 3) The output to the sparkplug transformers should be kept away from all inputs. 4) Power must come from the battery directly, using the leads provided. 5) A control must be fabricated for the light speed units.
After careful thought and examination, I decided to locate the units on a flat plate on the stbd side behind the control panel. This plate would also have room for the later installation of a remote transponder box, and should be far enough away from signal inputs not to cause a problem.
1) Cut two cardboard templates for mounting plates - one for the stbd side, and one for the port side. 2) Trimmed templates until they fit.
