Brief Description: Filler at spinner flange part 2
I managed a first today I think, I worked on 3 different areas of the plane in one day! I started by sanding off the filler the sagged yesterday, I also had the bright idea of taking the cowl off the plane to do this work, this way the filler if not think enough has no place to run.
I made a couple of filler spreaders by taking one of those shape copy deals (the one with all the pins) I used this to transfer the shapes to the spreader and then cut them out. These will really not do much good with the thick filler but when I start to fill the pin holes I think they will be helpful.
By having the cowl on end I laid the filler on good and it was thick enough this time. To help smooth things out I laid plastic over the ring and pressed down with a board, this should minimize time sanding, or at least that is the theory.
Later after the filler and set and was still soft I removed the plastic and used a razor blade to shave the thing to a rough shape.
