Brief Description:  Installed prop to fit cowl

Today I am a little closer to getting the cowl fit. The part I needed to fit the propeller cam in job one was to install the prop. I leveled the fuselage twice once before the prop install and once after, don’t do this wait till the prop in on first. On the WW prop the spinner back is in two halves bolted to two plates at the back of the prop. The part I needed is two temporary plates that hole the two plates on the prop in position so the spinner will be centered.

I carefully installed the prop, these are fine thread bolts and are long, you work the bolts is a little at a time so it takes a while. I was not going to torque the bolts since the prop will come off after the cowl is fit but, then I thought it best to torque things anyways, this way I have the option to leave the prop on if I think I can work around it.

It took a while to get all the screws that hold the spinner on but I finally did and started to fit the cowl. I used a laser level on an adjustable tripod to mark where the horizontal line goes through the engine, the idea being the spinner opening gets centered on this line. I was out of time but already have a minor issue to deal with, there a three screws that hold the spinner back plate halves together, the most aft one interferes with the inside edge of the cowl, so the spinner will have to come off, I think I can continue since the aft edge of the back plate is coincident with the spinner for the most part. I will have to get a shorter screw or reverse the screw so the screw head sit aft.
