Brief Description:  Initial cuts to fit cowls halves

Today I began work on the cowl. You start by making sure the upper and lower cowl halves make a perfect circle the size of the spinner, which is 13”. I borrowed a clear piece of plastic used by an RV-7A builder I know. There is a joggle in the lower cowl half and this was exactly the middle of the 13” circle so I used that as my horizontal guide. I use the clear template to mark the horizontal line on the upper cowl then cut out the bits and test fit. After some sanding I have a fairly good fit but there is a gap that will need some fairing work at the two halves of the circle. These parts are very roughly finished at the factory. What I have to decide is do I improve this fit now with glass work or wait till I have the two halves fit to the plane.

At this part of the project the instructions in the kit are very none specific unlike the beginning when it really guided you step by step.
