Today I made a bushing out of a brass sleeve. The glued on canopy makes the skirt stick out further from the end of the tube that the canopy latch fits into. I am adding this brass bushing to get the handle to not touch the skirt when in operation. I want to add a shim between the handle and the brass bushing to prevent corrosion between the dissimilar metals. I plan to mix up some epoxy and micro balloons and fair the bushing into the surrounding part of the skirt, this will seal this so water will not intrude here.
