Well back to work on the plane, at least some. I am trying to figure out what I need to do with the skirt before I rivet it in place. One thing was to fit the external canopy latch handle. The handle comes with the hole that fits over the axis of the latch but the handle itself is rough cut in a block shape. You have to round things down to keep it from interfering with the skirt when it moves. Also you want it somewhat streamlined when in the closed position.
A lot of time with a file and drum sander and I have it in a nice shape. I did a little polishing and it looks nice, of course there a still several scratches to buff out, they kind of stand out in the photo.
