Brief Description:  Part 2: Static sytem leak check

When I tried to coble up the stuff to leak check things I could not keep my setup from leaking. At first I thought it was my connections. I had read about someone using a syringe to create the vacuum required, I had one on hand, thanks to keeping medical supplies handy for our horses. I then needed a way to seal over the static port, it was then I got the idea to use a suction cup I had on hand, I drilled it for the ΒΌ inch vinyl tube I was using.

Stuck it on the side of the plane, opposite port is taped over, and then pulled the plunger. Now you ask how you watch the altimeter when you are back by the static port. I used a snake camera with removable video screen. I set the camera focused on the altitude and set the removable wireless monitor on the fuselage. After setting the altitude to 1000 feet I then set a timer on the D180 for 5 minutes. You can see in the shot with the time done message the altitude is the same as the start picture.

I then checked the trim speed switch, I slowly ran the speed up just past 100 kts, this is the set point of the speed switch, and sure enough it slowed down the trim motor at 101 kts. Now I need to make a manometer to check out the pitot system
