Brief Description:  Final fit of canopy

There is nothing like a good night’s sleep to sort out my issues with the canopy. I decided that I would try to fit the canopy from the aft forward and accept that I would have to cut some excess off at the front. This worked out great, by starting aft and working forward everything just fit down nicely. I am not sure but in the initial fit if I had started from the aft then the windscreen part would be up by the baggage door. After getting the canopy set I again used the cardboard and cut off the new front end. This cut turned out much better, I am very happy with the result.

One thing I learned on the first cut was after you remove the clamps it is difficult to get things back in the exact same spot so I made some marks and also drilled 6 holes for clecoes. This worked great, after taking the canopy off to dress the edges I was able to fit things back perfectly. The last thing was the obligatory test fit. It mates up nicely but the windscreen will need some adjustments since my new forward edge of the canopy does not line up perfectly. I think I am ready to glue.
