Brief Description:  Outer skin of door done.

I was taken off my trip for a Captain training so I did not have to leave this afternoon, I am on reserve for the next 24 hours so I will not have to leave until early Sunday morning and maybe not at all if they don’t have any trip that needs to be covered, so time to do more work on the plane.

I finished riveting the baggage door part, I then clecoed on the inner door skin. You are to give it a test fit and while the inner skin is still not riveted tweet the door till you get a best fit. I did a test fit and it is really close, just sits a little high at the tightest part of the curve. I hear it is better to wait until the cowl is installed to do the final fit, so the door will be put away for now.

I had to remove some of the top skin sides that interfered with the canopy frame. Some builders cut this way back to line up with the edge of the bottom side skin. For now I just wanted to remove just enough to allow the canopy to travel full forward.
