Today I decided to tackle something I have been meaning to do. I just did not like how my right fuel line to the right tank turned out. I thought it sat up too high and stuck out too far in front of the gear weld mount. I figured it would be easy to hit the line with my foot while climbing in the cockpit. I also had looked at the Van’s RV-8A at the Arlington show. I made my first line trying to match the plans, after looking at the Van’s factory bird I noticed they made the line stay much closer to the floor. I added a picture from above of the old line to show what I mean. The other thing about the old line is used a spring hand bender to make the curve on the right side around the weld mount and this just looked too distorted, it really did not match the specification from AC 43. It took me 3 hours but I like this one much better. Funny it did not take me multiple tries to get this one done.
This line is lower and will have more cleance from rudder cable
