Brief Description:  Built ELT deck

I just returned from my first Oshkosh and it was great and very motivating. In my endeavor to get the turtle deck riveted on, I worked more on the aft to do list. Since I am not going to use the rear batter deck I decided to make a deck for the ELT to sit on. The ELT needs to be solidly connected to the main structure of the plane, it will activate with enough G-force if I ever crash, but to do this it need a solid base. I used some .040 sheet with some side angles for reinforcement. It is over kill but since the back of the battery tray already had nut plates for AN-4 bolts I used that to attach the bracket in the aft section and #8 screw for the front. It is very solid and meets the requirements for installation location called out in the instructions. I will cut some lightening holes lighten up the whole thing just a bit. This is the last day of the month so I am glad I could get a few more hours into the project.
