Brief Description:  Cooling Air Ramp

Today I planned to work on the cooling air ramp, I know I need to proseal some of that area and since I am ready to proseal the fuel senders to the access plate I thought I would prep the cooling ramp. I first had to put the fuselage back on the rotisserie which took more time than I would have liked. After looking over the plans I will have to wait on the ramp since I have to proseal under an area that gets riveted and I am alone this weekend and don’t have a bucker. This is one of those areas that you just can’t do by yourself. Up to now I have riveted everything myself.

I found the outer most holes, of the 9 holes that attach at the bottom of the firewall flange unfinished. The other holes are dimpled as well as the underside. I am not sure why these are left undone in the QB kit. The plans call for all of these holes to get flush rivets but I am not sure why the underside of the floor rib was not countersunk to accept the dimple. I will have to read over the plans more closely and see what might have been missed.
