Brief Description:  Rear Throttle complete

Well it is Boxing Day and I finished up the rear throttle. I decided to go with the stock handle; I was considering designing something different. After some thought I decided that this would be poor use of my time. I went with the QB so that I could be flying sooner, messing with the rear throttle handle would just slow me down. I have to keep reminding myself that I can work on these kinds of modifications after I am flying. I will have many days of the winter months were I will not be able to fly so this will be the perfect time to work on small modifications.

I had to lengthen the slot in the arm rest for the rear throttle. It was acting as a stop and not letting the front throttle move to its stop. Now they hit each stop simultaneously. Next step was to make the plastic strips that will keep the rear lever aligned and keep the lever from rubbing metal on metal. I marked the 4 holes in each strip and then clamped them in place. Then I drilled them to the arm rest. The plans called for machine countersinking the arm rest holes but I decided to dimple the holes. Last thing I did was rivet the nut plates that will hold the rear throttle panel in place. I think the next thing I need to do is paint the interior.
