Brief Description:  Rudder pedal slide bar

I have been fighting a pretty bad cold but was still compelled to do a little work in the shop. I started the rudder pedal install procedure. You first have to open up two holes in the flange of the slide tube; this is the tube the adjustable rudder pedals move on. It gets attached to the forward firewall via tow bolts that go into 2 nut plates on the outside of the firewall. There is a part that gets bolted to the floor with two nut plates; this part has a socket that accepts the end of the slide tube. I removed the front baggage bin flooring so that I have easy access to the forward part of the cockpit floor. I bolted in the slide bar then had to drill two holes, one on either side of the slide bar socket, a bolt will go through here to secure the slide bar into the socket. I then removed and deburred the holes. Next was to slide on the main support for the rudder pedals, this part has a center tube that slides on the slide tube. In welding these parts the inside can deform some so I had to run a brake hone down the inside so get things to slide smoothly. I had to also hone the left and right rudder pedal so they too rolled smoothly on their axis. I still need to work the left pedal more.
