In doing research on the parking brake valve I read where EZ lube was not the best sealant for the brake fittings. Many have had it leak on them. I decided I would remove the fittings on the brake master cylinders I installed ages ago and re-install them with the Loctite 567. Well I managed to strip the flats on the pipe nipple that runs between the reservoir and the cylinder. This is not the typical blue aircraft grade fitting, I think it might be simple 6061 aluminum which is soft. At any rate I now have to order new fittings. I will order brass as well as blue aluminum and see which one holds up best. I also need to think of a way to bench test this stuff to make sure I don’t have any leaks. I would hate to have this all installed on the plane and then discover there is a leak in one of the fittings.
