Brief Description: Installed nose gear flange and fork
Not a lot of time in the shop today but I did get something done. I have spent copious amounts of time doing research on the area of the project I have ahead of me.
I drilled the WD631 flange to the nose gear leg. The flange comes with on side undersized. I assembled the flange on the leg, inserted a 5/16 bolt in as far as it would go then clamped the flange in place. I first match drilled with a 7.5 mm bit then used an adjustable ream to bring it up to size. I hind sight I think one could just drill the small hole in the flange then install it and use a ream to dress it up if need be. I think match drilling the way I did is over kill but I am happy with the fit.
I next greased up the fork and installed in on the gear leg. I started to set the breakout force but need to get a better scale.
